What’s New?
Welcome to CharlestonKidsWithCameras.org. We tentatively launched our website last week, so check back frequently as we have a mass of our student’s photography to upload.
I suppose it’s a bit overwhelming writing the first post for our project. We have so much cool stuff going on right now that I’m going to have to break it up into several posts.
The first thing to come to mind is recent news from our ongoing exhibit at Earthfare, the Healthy Supermarket. We’ve had photos on display in Earthfare’s community room for about a month now. Kudos to Earthfare shoppers for donating $1191.19 to our cause. Thank you all; this money will be used to buy new point-and-shoot digital cameras for our children. This means a lot as the children love the “instant gratification” digital offers (I suppose we, as professionals, love it for the same reason). It means a lot to us, as the mentors, as well because our work flow will be eased by having contiguous batteries, memory cards, etc. for all of the cameras.
We have several gallery showings coming up, so please check back or subscribe to our website.
Thanks to all who have helped make this project a reality…
